Presenting results of the Erasmus+ project MareMathics

MareMathics, an Erasmus+ project, implemented in cooperation with University of Split’s Polish, Estonian and Latvian partners, and Professor Toni Milun, was presented to more than twenty participants, employees of European universities, at the Faculty of Maritime Studies.

In an interactive presentation of project results and developed materials, application of mathematics in maritime affairs was demonstrated, as well as navigation training with the help of the Planetarium’s "starry sky", or navigation techniques on Faculty of Maritime Studies’ nautical simulator.

One of the project’s main goals is developing digital materials intended for gaining and practicing knowledge in mathematics with special application in the field of maritime affairs. It is especially interesting that those materials guide students from mathematics basics to their actual application, offering presentations, videos, quizzes, numerous examples, etc., in order to facilitate mastering materials for students, and provide their accessibility to young people, primarily students of maritime faculties.

Participants in this event will make MareMathics materials soon be available at more than 10 universities around the world, and in several languages, at https://maremathics.pfst.hr/.
