University of Split

University of Split was founded on 15 June 1974. There are around 20,000 students at University's eleven faculties, one arts academy and four University departments. Although fairly young, the University of Split can be proud today of over 170 study programmes delivered in social sciences, humanities, natural, technical, biotechnical, medical, biomedical sciences and arts. The offer is continuously enriched with new, interesting and attractive study programmes.

University Campus, the biggest project ran by the University, is gradually being shaped to its final form. The buildings of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, Faculty of Economics, University Library and Student dormitory are already in place. Three more faculties moved to their new building: Faculty of Chemistry and Technology, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Maritime Studies, as well as three university departments: University Department for Forensics Sciences, University Department of Marine Studies and University Department of Health Studies. Buildings of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Kinesiology and Arts Academy, as well as Science and Innovation Centre are in the initial phase of construction or planning.

In the framework of European projects, contacts have been made with the leading European universities, but also with universities from other continents. University successfully participates in the Erasmus programme - the biggest student, academic and administrative staff exchange programme.
