The University of Algarve, as part of SEA-EU Alliance, including nine European universities (University of Split among them), is announcing first call to award 20 research doctoral (PhD) scholarships.
Scholarships are intended for candidates in following fields:
• Natural, technical, and biomedical sciences,
• Social sciences and humanities,
• Economics.
Application deadline: October 27-November 26, 2025.

Research scholarships enable doctoral research at University of Algarve under co-mentorship at one of SEA-EU Alliance partner universities, including the possibility of staying at that partner institution from 6 to 24 months.
Scholarships are financed by Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), with support from European Social Fund, and are awarded for a period of up to four years (with possibility of annual renewal).
