Career Day at Faculty of Maritime Studies, an event where students had the opportunity to learn about latest trends in maritime affairs and develop a professional network, took place on April 2nd in Faculty's hall.
On this occasion, 37 leading companies from maritime industry presented themselves to the students, and as Faculty’s Dean, assoc. prof. Ivan Peronja Ph.D., emphasized, the event included long-standing university-industry cooperations.
"The doors of this faculty are always open to you, and this administration aims to strengthen collaboration with economy, which is always important and part of the strategy of both this Faculty and the University. What we create here must serve the community and the economy," Dean Peronja said, inviting business representatives to get involved in the Faculty’s scientific and professional events.
As part of Career Day, Faculty of Maritime Studies and Association of Split’s Maritime Captains signed an agreement on scientific-research, educational, technical-professional, and business cooperation.
"This is an extremely important partnership with an organization that brings together top command personnel and experts with extensive experience in the maritime industry. The goal is to provide students with deeper insights into real events through panels and professional activities," stated assoc. prof. Luka Vukić Ph.D., Vice Dean for Development and International Cooperation.
One of significant aspects of this collaboration is co-publishing the journal "Captain’s messenger”, which will now, along with the Association of Maritime Captains, also be edited by Faculty’s employees, which opens additional opportunities for publishing Faculty teachers and researchers’ papers.
