In collaboration with Republic of Croatia’s Ministry of Health and the Croatian Emergency Medicine Institute, 17th national MRMI (Medical Response to Major Incidents) course took place at General Hospital ‘Josip Benčević’ in Slavonski Brod’s Educational Centre, as part of ongoing education for crisis response.
International MRMI instructors from Slavonski Brod have been engaged in this type of education for 15 years and have so far conducted 18 national and three international MRMI courses in Croatia. They were also involved in 15 courses in Slovenia, 4 in Portugal, 4 in Sweden, 4 in Italy, one in Germany, one in Spain, one in Norway, and 3 in the Netherlands, totalling 54 MRMI courses completed by Slavonski Brod instructors over the past 15 years. On average, each MRMI course has 60 participants, meaning that they have educated over 3,240 healthcare professionals.
People from Split also participated in Slavonski Brod.
On this occasion, assoc. prof. Mario Podrug Ph.D. expressed his gratitude for the invitation and hospitality of president of the international organization for mass casualties and disasters, MRMI, assoc. prof. Boris Hrečkovski, MD, director of Slavonski Brod General Hospital, assoc. prof. Josip Samardžić Ph.D., assistant director for nursing, Željka Dujmić, MSc. Med. Techn., and instructors (doctors of medicine): Josip Janković, Anton Lukenda and Branka Bardak.
Given the circumstances in the world and ongoing war conflicts, MRMI courses gained additional importance.
