UniSport Stars - annual award ceremony of the Croatian Academic Sports Association (HASS) for 2022/2023. and celebration of its 30th birthday took place on February 7 in festive academic atmosphere of Kockica, the so-called building of Republic of Croatia’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

The ceremony was attended by president of Board of Rectors and University of Split’s rector, prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D., who gave a welcome speech, other rectors and deans, representatives of the academic community, guests from politics and sports - Croatia’s President, Zoran Milanović, Prime Minister’s representative and Minister of Tourism and Sports, Nikolina Brnjac, representative of President of Croatian Parliament and its member, Ante Bačić, Secretary General of the Croatian Olympic Committee, Siniša Krajač, President of the Croatian Paralympic Committee, Ratko Kovačić, President of the European University Sports Association, Adam Roczek, members of World University Sports Federation’s Executive Board, Marko Žunić and Fernandno Parente, President of the Croatian Academic Association, Haris Pavletić, as well as many famous Croatian athletes.

Since its foundation in 1994, HASS has become a key institution in promoting sports excellence, fair play and physical activity among students throughout Croatia. Likewise, Croatian Academic Sports Association, with its UniSport Heart Foundation, wants to be the partner connecting the academic community and sports, supporting student athletes with scholarships, innovative ideas and projects centered on education, sports and a healthy lifestyle.

From University of Split, Josip Bilić Pavlinović received the award for special contribution to academic sports, and Luka Baković received recognition for athlete with disability, for his contribution to developing academic sports in Croatia. Lifetime achievement award went to Juraj Gamulin from VK Gusar.
