,,Besides the School of Medicine, the successful completion of your study programmes provided you with the competencies and skills at the highest level, for the benefit of our local community, Dalmatia, and our country. There was a question about the employability of health-care workers, but I believe that has never been an issue and it never will be. Such educational skills are essential and if COVID-19 taught us anything, it is the importance of health-care workers and health studies’’ - Rector said, adding that our mission is to establish the Faculty of Health Studies soon, in order to provide further support to the growth and development of health studies, open up the new possibilities and perspectives.
Professor Stipan Janković, PhD, Acting Head of Department of Health Studies, and one of the founders of the Department, wished the graduates the best of luck in their work and emphasized the great importance of their profession.
,,According to the latest information, the Croatian Employment Service does not record unemployed health care professionals. You have a bright and promising future. Be an optimist so that you are always moving forward without fear. However, you should know that there is no end to education. The end of one stage is the beginning of the new one, and there will be many opportunities in the future to develop your professional skills and experience.’’- Prof. Janković encouraged the graduates. He also expressed his hope that the Department would soon become the Faculty of Health Studies, offering all levels of studies. He announced the launching of a new undergraduate and graduate professional study of Occupational Therapy next year, as in this region, the deficit of professionals in this area is evident. According to European standards, it has 40 times fewer professionals in this area compared to other EU member states.
