Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences joins Split Public Fire Brigade’s action "Heart for Little Heroes"

City of Split’s Public Fire Brigade is organizing the 2nd humanitarian action "Heart for Little Heroes", which aims to raise funds so that Split Clinical Hospital Centre’s Intensive Pediatrics, Clinic for Children's Diseases, can get the HAMILTON-T1, intelligent transport ventilator for treating minor and fragile patients during helicopter transport in the area covering both Zadar and Dubrovnik.

In support of the fire brigade’s humanitarian action, and to raise public awareness, Croatian marathon swimmer and Master of Educational Rehabilitation, Dina Levačić, together with Lea Ćaleta, police officer at the Resnik Airport Station, and assoc. prof. Darko Hren Ph.D., from Faculty of Humanities’ Psychology Department, swam the distance from Kašuni beach to Split's Riva, on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

Professor Hren is also Dina Levačić’ supervisor in her doctoral dissertation entitled "Extreme endurance training and performing: Investigation of medical and psychological aspects of channel swimming" at Split’s School of Medicine and TRIBE’s postgraduate study.

Dina, who already swam (across) some of the world's most difficult distances (such as La Manche, Tsugaru, Kaiwi, Catalina, etc.) has been working humanitarianly for years, participating or organizing actions, and this year we are proud that, along with a representative of Croatian Interior Ministry, a representative of our faculty also joined in this valuable goal.
