Humanitarian exhibition and online auction "University of Split and Split’s artists together for Banovina"

The humanitarian exhibition entitled "University of Split and Split’s artists together for Banovina" will open on Monday, February 15, starting at 12 AM in the University Gallery "Vasko Lipovac".

An online auction of all exhibited works, both paintings and sculptures, will accompany the exhibition, while the funds raised are intended for students affected by the devastating earthquake in the Banovina area and their families. The auction will take place on the University of Split’s website, and it will be possible to bid for the exhibited works for 24 hours, from February 25 to 26, which is also the last day of the exhibition at the University Gallery.

The exhibition contains twenty-two (22) works by prominent artists from the Split academic art scene. Artists who donated their works are the following:

Josip Botteri Dini, Ana Marija Botteri, Željko Bubalo, Ljubica Buble Dragojević, Mladen Čulić, Edvin Dragičević, Nikola Džaja, Kažimir Hraste, Stjepan Ivanišević, Ivan Listeš, Petar  Jakelić, Robert Jozić, Kuzma Kovačić, Helena Mardešić Sikora, Zvonimir Mihanović, Matko Mijić, Dražen Pejković, Hrvoje Marko Peruzović, Velebit Restović, Dijana Iva Sesartić, Vjekoslav Stipica and Vice Tomasović.

The starting price for all artworks will be HRK 5,000.00, and it will be possible to buy the desired artwork via an online auction in order to provide the most help to those in need. We will inform the public about the exact time of the auction, as well as on how to bid, in the coming days, through both university communication channels and the media.

Importance of the exhibition, befitting art, is not just the creative contribution by Split’s authors, all of them eminent members of our art scene, but also its moral and ethical character. By donating their work, they stressed the essential role of art. Together with artworks, buyers will get the opportunity to express their solidarity and support students coming from the area of ​​Sisak-Moslavina County affected by the earthquake.
