Looking back on ActiveST - young people in Split developed skills in social entrepreneurship and sustainable development

The Split Entrepreneurship Centre, in cooperation with University of Split Faculty of Economics’ Student Entrepreneurship Incubator, implemented the project "AktiveST" with the aim of educating young people about UN Sustainable Development Goals and designing local solutions in accordance with these goals.

Key items of the project were educating and informal learning of young people, encouraging them to assume and practice the role of active citizens in different parts of social life and solving individual social problems, improving their entrepreneurial and digital skills needed to enter the labour market, as well as strengthening solidarity among them.

The project was implemented in 3 phases. First phase was based on implementing educational activities in techniques of generating ideas and social entrepreneurship, the second was organizing a two-day social hackathon, Hack4Split, and its goal was to create and test solutions for detected social problems in the local community, while the third included several educations concerning UN Sustainable Development Goals and Socially Useful Learning.

25 educations, included 431 target users, were organized for students and young people in the project. Certificates were issued for participation in activities, in the form of Europass digitally signed credentials, in accordance with the EU Action Plan for Digital Education (2021-2027).

The project was financed by the Central State Office for Demography and Youth 2022 funds.
