This academic year (2022/23.) at the Faculty of Science in Split, a new university graduate study program, Molecular Biology in English, will start.

It is the first such program in the Republic of Croatia. The program lasts for two years, or 4 semesters. It is worth 120 ECTS credits and leads to the title MSc in Molecular Biology.

The new university graduate study program Molecular Biology aims at acquiring key knowledge in theory and practice, competence and skills in the field of molecular biosciences (molecular biology, biomedicine, biotechnology, bioinformatics).

Students will gain interdisciplinary knowledge and skills, especially from biology-related and important fields: chemistry, physics, mathematics, and computer science.

Employment opportunities include private or public scientific and educational institutions, biomedical and medical companies, biotechnological and pharmaceutical companies, and those involved in producing and controlling quality of food, water, environmental protection, producing and trading with scientific equipment, and similar. Some graduate students will be employed in various scientific research and other projects, as well as centers of excellence, where they will be able to complete their doctoral dissertations and continue developing their scientific careers.
