Online conference on digital transformation of the blue economy

As part of this year's edition of EU Industry Days 2021, the University of Split is organizing an international virtual event called Digital Transformation of the Blue Economy, scheduled for March 25, 2021.
In order to foster the digital transition and blue economy sustainability, the event will bring together participants from all over the world to exchange ideas, experiences and good practices and discuss the challenges of digitalizing blue economy, its potential and cooperation with the ICT sector.
University of Split Rector Dragan Ljutić and the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Nikolina Brnjac, will open/inaugurate the event, while experts from business and the academic environment will share their experiences and views on digitalization and its potential for the blue economy in webinar sessions and panel discussions. Speakers include representatives of the European Commission, university management, domestic and international small and large companies’ administrations.

Some of the speakers are: Claus Schultze, DG MARE, European Commission, Leandra Vranješ Markić from University of Split, Nebojša Stojčić from University of Dubrovnik, Daniela Garbin Praničević from the University of Split, Karlo Guštin from Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Teuta Duletić from Metal Shark Croatia, Mirjana Čović from Austria’s ÖBB-Infrastruktur, Arctur’s Urška Starc-Peceny from Slovenia and Matilda Dorotić from BI Norwegian Business School.
Business meetings will be held in cooperation with the Enterprise Europe Network, representing an excellent opportunity to find new partners and achieve research and technological cooperations.

A workshop on Basic Digital Business Skills will be held only for Croatian companies, by experts from Apsolon. The number of participants in this workshop is limited so it is necessary to indicate this session when registering.
Participation in the event is completely free, small and medium-sized enterprises, large companies, startups, research institutions, decision- and policy makers in the field of blue economy can apply. A short registration process, via the b2match platform, is necessary in order to participate.
