University of Split presented all of its programs in Prokurative. Many visitors were amazed by the number of student associations and the products they were presenting, the Student Center once again showed how they are improving quality of work day by day, and we had a large number of guests from the City and the County, which shows the respect and support this community has for its university.
At the very beginning, Tomislav Milošević, University of Split’s Student Union President, addressed the visitors and thanked all those who participated in organizing the event. He praised the student associations for their daily contribution to the quality of studying at University of Split and reminded everyone of the lack of student accommodations.
University of Split’s Vice-Rector for Business, prof. Tomislav Kilić Ph.D., among other things, reminded everyone that University of Split offers about 180 study programs at 11 faculties, one Academy of Arts, four university departments and three study divisions, so over 5,000 high school graduates can find their place at University of Split.
On behalf of City of Split, Igor Maretić, Head of Department for Sports, greeted the University, expressing a pleasant surprise at the event’s level of organization, also the attitude that the University has strong capital, achieving success on world university rankings, which guarantees future students quality education and success in finding employment.
County Prefect Blaženko Boban did not hide his emotions and pride he feels towards the University. He referred to one of this year presentation's symbols, the lighthouse, saying, “This lighthouse of ours sends out signals beyond just the University, Split-Dalmatia County, also beyond Croatia. Imagine getting results and then skipping over almost 400 places on world rankings! That is value, potential and capital! That is why I want to congratulate University of Split Rector, all Vice-Rectors, Deans, Professors, administrative staff and students for this lighthouse illuminating both our city and our County."
Welcoming speeches ended with Rector’s, prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D., who opened the event.
He emphasized that students come first and that with new successes and the University getting stronger, the phrase: “Students, students, students” becomes a new one: "Split student city", because Split is becoming one more and more. We are progressing on various world-ranking lists and students see that and understand they can grow, develop and advance here. Split is a beautiful city that can offer good quality of life to everyone," he emphasized.
Rector, prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D. announced construction of a dormitory on Campus, which will have more than 500 places and which will ensure carefree study to students in Split. "As long as we are working and achieving results, our University and our city have no reason for negative thoughts and that is why, dear students, come and study in Split," Rector Ljutić invited high school graduates.
