SEA-EU Sport Staff Week on Challenges and Opportunities: International Sports Context

We can thank University of Split, led by Faculty of Kinesiology and partner universities from the European Universities of the Sea Alliance, for organizing this event. The entire program took place on Split Faculty of Kinesiology premises, from October 10 to 12 and hosted, in addition to Alliance partners, professors from University of Novi Sad, opening way for further cooperation.

Management of Split Faculty of Kinesiology opened the event extending a warm welcome to its European partners, while vice-rectors prof. Zoran Đogaš Ph.D., SEA-EU project manager, and prof. Igor Jerković Ph.D., manager of activities related to sports, explained University of Split’s role and importance in the Alliance of European Universities.

The program continued with short presentations of all partner universities and sports opportunities and engagements they offer. Prof. Ivo Carvalhosa Ph.D. gave the important lecture "Introducing Healthy Campus certificate", instructing Alliance universities’ representatives in the certification process involved in the Healthy Campus program.

Prof. Jelena Paušić Ph.D. proved that this was not only focused on students and younger people, with her lecture on the importance of physical activity for the elderly population.

University of Novi Sad’s representatives presented the Erasmus+ project SAVE, whose main goals are to define competencies needed to predict, avoid and end violence, exclusion and intolerance with sports, as well as using sport as 'tool' for conflict resolution.

The event was rounded off with sports activities that included sightseeing in Split and Nordic walking on Marjan.
