At its 6th session held on November 9, 2020, the Committee for State Awards for Science passed the Decision on presenting State Awards for Science for the previous year.

A total of 29 state awards for science in 2019 was presented. In the University of Split, the Annual Award for Science in the Field of Technical Sciences was awarded to assistant professor Petar Šolić PhD from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FESB), and in the category of Annual Awards for research assistants in the field of technical sciences, to Željko Penga PhD, from the same faculty.

Awards in individual fields of science are awarded in the following categories: Life Achievement, Annual Award for Science, Annual Award for Popularization and Promotion of Science and Annual Award for Research Assistants.
