As part of the SEA-EU project, the University of Split, together with its partners (universities of Cadiz, Brest, Gdansk, Kiel and Malta), is announcing a student PHOTO COMPETITION on "The sea and us". Each student can submit a maximum of three photographs. First three places won at our University enter the finals among the six above universities, from which the overall winner will be selected.
The submitted photography will have to illustrate the link between humans and the sea. Some possible inspirations are:
• Living sustainably by, from and with the sea
• Maritime and cultural heritage
• Maritime and coastal cities
• Nature and Human
• Seascape and Landscape
The competition is open from October 1-25, 2020.
Voting for the local winner: November 1-21, 2020
Voting for the overall winner: December 1-21, 2020
How to apply:
• Send photographs via Jumbo email
• Fill in the registration form and send it to: seaeu@unist.hr.
How is the winner chosen?
• Via social networks (20 percent share in deciding on the winner) - photos will be posted on November 1, 2020 in an album on seaeu.unist Instagram profile and the number of tagged photos the users liked the most will be tracked,
• Ruling by the expert jury (80% share) - the jury consists of 4 representatives: a professional photographer, a representative of the SEA-EU project, two lecturers from the Academy of Arts.
What is the reward?
• The local winner (depending on the first, second or third place) gets a prize worth 30, 50 or 100 EUR for the purchase of cultural products (tickets for exhibitions, books, tickets for concerts, etc.)
• The overall winner gets a prize of € 350 that covers the cost of traveling across Europe by train.
Selected submitted photographs will be developed and an SEA-EU exhibition will be organized and open in Split during the presidency of the Governing Board (composed of rectors and vice-rectors of all six universities), on December 14 and 15 2020.
