Successfully completed project "Improving existing integrated undergraduate and graduate university study program Medicine"

The final conference for the project "Improving existing integrated undergraduate and graduate study programs of Medicine" took place March 18 at the School of Medicine in Split, project leader, in partnership with medical schools of faculties in Zagreb, Osijek and Rijeka.

The project is in line with Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in European Higher Education Area (ESG). From the national strategic documents, we want to point out the project’s link to the Strategy of Education, Science and Technology.

The final conference was attended by prof. Ante Tonkić Ph.D., Split’s School of Medicine Dean, assoc. prof. Joško Božić Ph.D., Vice-dean and project manager, prof. Ivica Mihaljević Ph.D., Osijek’s Faculty of Medicine Dean, with Vice-dean prof. Ines Drenjančević Ph.D., Zagreb’s School of Medicine Vice deans, prof. Sven Seiwerth Ph.D. and assoc. prof. Venija Cerovečki Ph.D., and Rijeka’s Faculty of Medicine Vice-deans, prof. Ivana Marić Ph.D. and prof. Jasenka Mršić-Pelčić Ph.D.

Dean Tonkić pointed out that project’s value amount to HRK 4 million and that its outcomes present an important step forward for all medical schools in the European Higher Education Area.

- Each medical school or faculty was in charge of one element. We made proposals for occupational and qualification standards for MDs, 4 study programs were improved, and we kept improving teaching processes with many activities continuous - said project manager Joško Božić, thanking all partners for their contributions, as up to 81 teachers and associates. were actively involved in project implementation, as well as the chief project administrator, Andrea Buzov, and project associate, Marko Kumrić, MD, Split School of Medicine.

Implementation of this Project will achieve required quality assurance, strengthen the competencies of these universities’ staff, as well as students’ competencies, relevant in the labour market.
