This autumn, University of Split is launching an attractive undergraduate study program "Communication and Media"

For many years now, a large number of potential students have expressed an interest in studying media, journalism and communication in Split. With this in mind, University of Split, continuing its progressive development and satisfying needs for new academic programs, prepared quality and modern undergraduate university study program, Communication and Media.

The undergraduate university study program Communication and Media lasts for six semesters, is performed as a full-time study at University of Split and will enrol about 20 students. Minimal number of ECTS credits required to complete the study is 180, and conditions for enrolment is the state graduation exam.

Students will be able to choose and enrol elective courses from a number of University of Split constituents, where they will participate in the teaching process together with other students. This way enriches the study program because it provides students with professional and scientific profiling. One part of the students will be able to choose courses from Faculty of Humanities, enriching their knowledge choosing, for example, philological, humanities or other scientific fields’ courses. Students who will want to learn more in legal sciences or fields of religion and theology can choose courses from these University components. Attention will be paid to foreign languages, so students will have three required ones: English, Italian and German.

After completing the undergraduate study Communication and Media, study can be continued in a large number of graduate studies offered in Croatia and abroad, in the area of social sciences and humanities, that welcome any knowledge about communication and media. If students decide to continue their studies at University of Split, they can pursue graduate university study "Journalism in Contemporary Media", which is being prepared.

This study is more similar to undergraduate study programs in the European Union that offer education focused on media and communication. This argument was the motivation for starting the study, to fill the gap regarding undergraduate university studies in Croatia.

Completing the undergraduate study Communication and Media, students gain competencies to work in all services requiring experts in the field of communicating in public and private sectors, as well as creative industry.

The process of obtaining a work permit is underway, and future students will start the next academic year.
