University of Split the first one in Croatia to pilot the European Student Card implementation

On Friday, 4 September 2020, the University of Split has organised a video conference for project partners in the framework of the European University of the Seas (SEA-EU) project.

The conference focused on the topic of the European Student Card and hosted Mr. François Pradal from CNOUS (Centre National des Oeuvres Universitaires - the National Centre of University Works), coordinating institution of ESC project from France.
Teams in charge of implementation of the European Student Card from all six SEA-EU partner universities joined the conference. The University of Split was represented by Vice rector for Education, Professor Goran Kardum, PhD, Vice rector for International Cooperation, Professor Đurđica Miletić, PhD, SEA-EU project office, Head of International Relations Office, Ana Ćosić, Head of IT Department, Leida Rizvan, and other experts included in the implementation of the project.

Vice rector Kardum opened the conference, emphasising the importance of the European Student Card and its intention to replace the national Student X-cards and serve as student identification across Europe and beyond. Besides its basic functions, ESC should become the platform to join a wide range of services, e.g. e-payments, libraries, student centre, cultural events etc. ESC is part of the SEA-EU project task, lead by the University of Split, and reason why our University is the first one in Croatia to pilot the ESC implementation.

All the conference attendees were acquainted with the ESC concept and functioning, as well as with specific steps to be taken during implementation.
