The exhibition project "Painting and Image Possibilities: Generation 2023" was opened on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at University Gallery in Split. This project presents final works of Academy of Arts in Split Painting Department students’ who graduated in 2023: Marija Bebić, Mihael Frančić, Mia Hržić-Vulić, Anna Perlain, Marija-Ana Rnjak and Krstijan Vrdoljak.
Assist. Prof. art Neli Ružić thanked the authors, mentors and assistants for their efforts and contribution to the exhibition.
Božo Kesić emphasized that the exhibition’s very name reflects the production of graduate theses of professors already known to the public. Artists from Department of Painting do not only express themselves in conventional painting medium, but also explore different media, reflecting on the medium’s relationship with subject matter.
Kesić further pointed out that the exhibition shows high quality of works and emphasized the importance of mentoring, especially mentioning assoc. prof. Blaženka Perica Ph.D., who has been successfully leading theoretical part of classes for years.
The exhibition was set up by graduates, in collaboration with mentors Neli Ružić, Viktor Popović and Vedran Perkov and assistants Anita Miloš Tomaić, Marijeta Vulić and Josip Šurlin.
Realization of the exhibition was made possible by funds from the City of Split and Croatia’s Ministry of Culture and Media. It will remain open until May 30, 2024.
