The 64th anniversary of Faculty of Chemistry and Technology (KTF) in Split’s establishment and operation was celebrated with great ceremony! On Friday, October 25th, Faculty’s Day was celebrated in the Three Faculties Building’s large amphitheatre, attended by its management, led by Dean, prof. Matko Erceg Ph.D. and Vice-deans prof. Dražan Jozić Ph.D., prof. Vesna Sokol Ph.D., prof. Nediljka Vukojević Medvidović Ph.D., and assoc. prof. Ante Prkić Ph.D., alongside guests, numerous staff and students.
In his report, Dean Erceg reflected on the previous academic year and highlighted the new postgraduate study program, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, as part of the teaching process. He expressed satisfaction that faculty staff attend trainings aimed at improving student success. Students are completing their theses in collaboration with industry, new agreements on university-industry cooperation have been signed, and the first Career Day took place.
KTF’s scientists published 71 scientific papers in the past year, and professors lead or collaborate in projects totalling over one million euros. The faculty, or both professors and students, participated in a series of projects aimed at popularizing science, such as the Science Festival, Researchers’ Night and Festival of Sustainability. A number of educational workshops and lectures for high school students have been organized, faculty associations designed and conducted series of lectures by foreign and domestic scientists - Dean Erceg stated, among other things.
The celebration was also an opportunity to award prizes and recognitions.
