On December 5th, a formal session of Maritime Studies in Split’ Faculty Council was held to celebrate the 65th anniversary of this higher education institution’s establishment. In the celebration, which took place just before the feast of St. Nicholas, patron saint of sailors, congratulations were extended to the Faculty by Captain Siniša Orlić, Director of Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure’s Navigation Safety Administration; Stipe Čogelja, Deputy Split-Dalmatia County Prefect; prof. Ivica Puljak Ph.D., Mayor of Split; and prof. Nikola Koceić-Bilan Ph.D., University of Split’s Vice-Rector for Students, Teaching, and Business, who wished the Faculty much success on behalf of himself and Rector, prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D. In a video message, best wishes were also conveyed by Yusuke Mori, Deputy Executive Director of the IAMU association; Nikola Palada, captain and Faculty’s former student; and Arkadiusz Adamczyk from Polish Maritime Academy.
In the session, a Business-Technical Cooperation Agreement was signed by Dean Ivan Peronja and David Sopta, Jadrolinija’s Management Board President, and an agreement for a vessel donation to the Faculty by Dean Ivan Peronja and Captain Siniša Orlić.
The ceremony was also an occasion to award diplomas, plaques, certificates of appreciation and prizes.
In the musical segment of the program, soprano Leona Sever performed, accompanied by prof. Pero Prosenica.
