The first SEA EU International Week, bringing together 86 international participants from 39 countries’ 49 partner institutions, was officially opened on Monday, May 5th, lasting until May 9th, in Kopilica at the University Department of Professional Studies.
Participants were welcomed by Vice-rector for International Cooperation and Cooperation with Local Community, prof. Zoran Đogaš, Ph.D., and Head of Department of Professional Studies, Petar Pepur, Ph.D.
"This is a significant event not only for University of Split, but also for the City because we have a large number of international participants from so many countries that it's difficult to list them. First and foremost, our guests are professors, students, and administrative staff from SEA-EU Alliance’s nine universities, as well as from other neighbouring countries throughout Europe," Vice-rector Đogaš said, welcoming everyone and wishing them pleasant stay in Split and our University.
Head of Department, Pepur, also expressed gratitude to everyone participating in the first International Week at University of Split.
"This week is an excellent opportunity to get to know each other, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. We are very happy and proud to be hosting 86 participants from 39 countries here, and we hope that this event will help us build stronger connections and better understanding of our cultures. Today, international cooperation is more important than ever. By working together, we create new opportunities, open up and support mutual respect, and prepare our students and universities for global challenges. Projects like this week help us build a modern academic community, a community that is more connected and inclusive, that values cooperation rather than competition, community that values unity, not isolation. We are very proud to host such a diverse group and we look forward to the new knowledge and experiences resulting from this week," he said.
In the framework of first International Week, Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program "Halfway there? Reaching the Goal of 50% Mobility" is also being implemented, as well as teaching by international teachers at University Department of Professional Studies, Faculty of Economics, FESB, Faculty of Kinesiology, University Department of Health Studies, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Arts Academy.
