The 14th European Symposium on Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (ESTAC14), marking the 50th anniversary of this esteemed international scientific conference, is taking place from September 15 to 18 at the Faculty of Chemistry and Technology in Split.
ESTAC brings together researchers from fields of thermal analysis, calorimetry, chemistry, materials science, energetics, pharmaceuticals, and other related areas. This year's conference records over 200 registered participants from 32 countries, confirming the international importance of this event and the prestige ESTAC holds in the scientific community.
During the conference, as many as 192 scientific contributions will be presented in various formats. The program includes six plenary and 12 invited lectures, 48 oral and six technical presentations, and as many as 120 poster presentations. A special part of the program is a lecture related to the Rigaku-ICTAC Promising Researcher Award 2026, which will this year be presented to Juan Ivorra-Martinez Ph.D.
The scientific program covers a wide range of current topics — from thermal characterization and behavior of advanced materials, thermal kinetics and thermochemistry to researching polymers, sustainable and functional materials. Particular attention is given to applying thermal analysis in chemistry, materials science, energetics, batteries, environmental protection and the pharmaceutical industry.
The ESTAC14 will also be marked by awarding of prestigious prizes to scientists who made outstanding contributions to the field of thermal analysis and calorimetry. Recipients of ESTAC14 awards are: Prof. Peter Šimon Ph.D. (David Dollimore ESTAC Award); Prof. Nicolas Sbirrazzuoli Ph.D. (Eugen Segal ESTAC Award); Gabriela Zelenková Ph.D. (Judit Simon ESTAC Award) and Prof. Ignazio Blanco Ph.D. (Jose Criado Award for Innovation and Promotion of Thermal Analysis).
Host of ESTAC 2026 will be University of Split’s Faculty of Chemistry and Technology, in cooperation with the Croatian Committee for Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry of the Croatian Society of Chemical Engineers and Technologists (HDKI), as well as Central European and Eastern European committees for Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (CEEC-TAC).
