Awarded prizes in "Tommy’s student competition"

The award ceremony for "Tommy’s student competition" to most successful teams that have been solving this company’s business cases from March to June, was held at the Faculty of Economics.

Solving business cases in areas of human resources, wholesale, marketing, procuring goods, managing inventory and waste disposal were previously presented by 55 students, that is 12 teams from Faculty of Economics and 5 teams from University of Split’s Department of Professional Studies.

On that occasion, assoc. prof. Vinko Muštra Ph.D., Faculty of Economics’ dean pointed out that this competition was a confirmation that this higher education institution’s study programs do not only offer knowledge in theory, but also the opportunity to acquire practical skills.

Prof. Goran Kardum Ph.D., University of Split’s vice-rector, also emphasized how important is to combine profession with practice, that is, include practical work in curricula. He also emphasized the importance of human resources management, as the main training ground for obtaining knowledge, because without it, buildings, equipment and material goods do not mean much.

Head of the University Department for Professional Studies, Petar Pepur Ph.D. thanked Tommy company for the opportunity, as well as students who participated in the competition, while Zoran Mikulić, Tommy’s board member, expressed his satisfaction with the realization of this project, announcing that this was one of a series of similar projects that are planned for next year.

Most successful teams received cash prizes in amounts of HRK 7,000, 4,000 and 2,000.
