University of Split achieved exceptional progress in 13 UN Sustainable Development Goals in Times Higher Education Impact 2023 rankings

Times Higher Education Impact rankings (THE), which focuses on universities’ impact on society and the environment, taking into account criteria such as quality of education, research, knowledge transfer and innovation, has been published. University of Split has been ranked on THE Impact Rankings since 2022, in all 17 United Nations’ sustainable development goals and this year it made a progress in 13 of them and was ranked in 401st - 600th place overall.

This year, the University of Split achieved total number of points higher than last year, which testifies to continuous commitment to sustainability in various aspects of activity and academic endeavor.

Significant progress was made in Goal 4 (Quality Education), where we ranked 201st-300th out of 1,304 institutions, reflecting commitment to providing inclusive and accessible education for all. Similarly, in Goal 5 (Gender Equality), University ranked 201st-300th out of 1,081 institutions, emphasizing commitment to creating fair and empowering environment for all.

In addition, commitment to Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) brought great progress to 201st-300th among 910 institutions, demonstrating continued efforts in promoting accountability, access to justice and effective governance. Commitment to goal 17 (Partnering to Goals) resulted in excellent positioning of the University, in the prestigious ranking of 201st-300th, among 1625 institutions. This success emphasizes the ability to build strategic collaborations and take advantage of partnerships in promoting sustainable development on a global scale. In addition to numerous collaborations, projects and international activities, public annual report on University's sustainability was also evaluated.
