Mid-January, University Department of Health Studies hosted a delegation from Nord University’s Faculty of Nursing and Health Studies (which is a member of the SEA-EU Alliance), consisting of: Dean, prof. Gøril Ursin, Vice-dean, prof. Kari Ingstad, and prof. Gørill Haugan.
Vesna Forbergski, long-time teacher in the nursing program at NTNU University in Trondheim, now a consultant at Nord University, accompanied the delegation.
Health Studies’ acting head, prof. Irena Drmić Hofman Ph.D. welcomed her colleagues and introduced this University Department.
Faculty dean, prof. Ursin, then briefly presented Nord University and the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences.
2,100 students study at the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences, in study programs: Nursing, Paramedics, Pharmacy and Social education at bachelor and master levels - Master eHealth/public health/mental health; Master in Nursing - eHealth/geriatrics/dementia/diabetes/palliative care; Master in Specialized Nursing - anesthesia/critical care/surgical/cancer. Training is also provided in doctoral study Science of Professions. The faculty employs 180 professors and 30 administrative staff members. Research topics: Public health and health promotion, E-health - Technology and Healthcare innovation, Patient safety, emergency and crisis management, Science of professions.
Accompanied by colleagues from Nursing Studies, Nord University delegation visited the Clinical Hospital Center Split, where they were received by KBC Split’s director, prof. Julije Meštrović Ph.D. and head nurse Ivanka Ercegović, mag. med. tech.
