Specific safety measures against novel coronavirus (COVID-19) - updated recommendations as of 12 March 2020

People coming from countries/areas in which there is a high risk of the new coronavirus disease are placed under health surveillance in order to discover in time and prevent possible disease occurrence and its further spread.

Health surveillance is a preventive measure applied to healthy people who have been exposed to the coronavirus.

Infected areas with particularly high risk are the following states/areas:

- China

- South Korea

- Hong Kong

- Japan

- Singapore

- Malesia

- Bahrein

- Iran

- Italy

- Germany

- France

- Switzerland

- Spain

- Austria

- England

- Netherlands

- Sweden

- Bela Krajina (White Carniola) in Slovenia

 

These areas are further divided into two categories considering the risk level, and in accordance to the risk level, certain measure of prevention shall be applied to the following passengers:

Areas with the highest risk, because of the widespread disease transmission among the population, are the following states/regions/areas (category 1):

- China:  Hubei province, including the city of Wuhan

- Italy

- Germany: Heinsberg county in the German federal state North Rhine-Westphalia

- South Korea: the city of Daegu and sub-provincial city of Chengdu

- Iran

Areas with a high risk of coronavirus infection are considered the following states/regions (category 2)

- China (except for the areas already included in category 1.)

- South Korea (except for the areas already included in category 1.)

- Hong Kong

- Japan

- Singapore

- Malesia

- Bahrein

- Iran

- Italy

- Germany (except for the areas already included in category 1.)

- France

- Switzerland

- Spain

- Austria

- England

- Netherlands

- Sweden

- Bela Krajina (White Carniola) in Slovenia

 

1. Health surveillance for healthy persons (without symptoms)

1.1. Health surveillance for healthy persons entering Croatia, and who were for the past 14 days in the areas with the highest risk (category 1)

All foreigners entering Croatia from the highest risk areas stated under category 1 are going to be informed by the border police that, upon entering, they are obliged to be in quarantine for 14 days, upon leaving areas stated under category 1.

All Croatian citizens entering Croatia from the highest risk areas stated under category 1 shall be placed in home quarantine / self-isolation upon the decision of the sanitary inspection for 14 days, upon leaving areas stated under category 1.

1.2.a. Health surveillance for persons entering Croatia, and who were for the past 14 days in the areas at high risk of coronavirus infection (category 2)

Healthy persons upon entering Croatia from states/areas stated under category 2 shall be required to be in a home quarantine / self-isolation for 14 days, upon leaving areas stated under category 2.
