International military exercise "ADRION 22 CAX" at the Faculty of Maritime Studies

June 6 and 7, 2022, , as part of the cooperation between navies of members in the ADRION initiative, an international computer-assisted exercise, ADRION 2022 CAX, first part of MVV ADRION 22 (organized and implemented by Croatian navy), took place at the Faculty of Maritime Studies, University of Split. Navy personnel from Albania, Montenegro, Greece, Croatia, Italy and Slovenia participated in the exercise. The director of the CAX exercise is battleship captain Teo Prolić, Deputy Commander of Croatia’s navy training centre.

Thanks to long-term systematic and successful strategic cooperation of the Croatian Navy and Faculty of Maritime Studies, this computer-assisted exercise was performed using the TRANSAS NAVI TRAINER PROFESSIONAL 5000 navigation simulator.

Beginning the exercise, Deputy Commander of the Croatian Navy, Commodore Damir Dojkić and Dean of Maritime Studies Faculty, prof. Pero Vidan Ph.D. addressed the participants.

- With all its equipment, this Faculty is certainly the best equipped educational institution in southern Europe. It has 1,350 students in all levels of study, undergraduate to doctoral level. The Japanese Ministry of Maritime Affairs recognized us as a quality institution and our former students do not need additional endorsements, or pass any exams in order to sail on Japanese Merchant Navy ships - said Dean Vidan.

Goal of ADRION 22 CAX exercise is to develop and improve interoperability between navies of the ADRION initiative, in field of naval operations, particularly tactical manoeuvring, marine interceptions, search and rescue.
