University of Split leader of socially useful learning activities

The University of Split hosted the international scientific-professional conference organized by SEA-EU Alliance, on: "Community-engaged University".

Vice Rector for Teaching, Prof. Goran Kardum Ph.D. opened the conference, stressing the importance of university and society’s joint activities. Then, prof. Nives Mikelić Preradović Ph.D., University of Zagreb, gave the invited lecture on "15 years of Implementation of Service-Learning in Higher Education in Croatia - lessons learned", which introduced everyone to the process of implementing this concept in the Croatian higher education system. Presentations by representatives of numerous European universities and associations followed.

In addition to SEA-EU partner universities, participating as presenters and moderators, experts from universities in Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Slovakia, Romania and England also attended the conference

It took place in accordance with SEA-EU Alliance’s idea, that partner universities should develop into engaged universities that contribute in their communities and help solve social problems. In accordance with this idea, the University of Split sees socially useful learning as a useful tool that enables targeted cooperation with associations operating in society. We are, therefore, glad that University of Split, being the leader of socially useful learning activities, also organized this international event. After the conference, online proceedings will be published soon.
