Open Applications for Ocean Hackathon 2025!

We invite all ocean lovers, technology enthusiasts, and innovators to join Ocean Hackathon 2025, 48-hours innovation marathon that will take place October 17 - 19, 2025, in Split. Teams will develop creative solutions and prototypes using real data related to the sea, all aimed at preserving and smart use of marine resources.

Why apply for Ocean Hackathon?
Applying for Ocean Hackathon, you will have the opportunity to develop your idea with the help of experts and advanced tools. You will work in a team with people from various fields, and will have technical and professional support throughout the event.

How to apply and what can you win?       
If you have an idea related to sea, environment, or technology and want to test a prototype, solve a challenge, or gather a team of experts - apply via this form by May 15, 2025.

There will be valuable prizes for participants, and the winning team will travel to Brest (France) for the grand finale, on December 2, 2025, with all travel and participation costs covered.

What types of ideas and problems can be registered?    
Challenges in Ocean Hackathon can represent an idea, need, or specific problem related to the sea and oceans, their sustainable development and/or preservation. Data can include nautical charts, satellite images, information on maritime safety and legal frameworks, locations of wrecks, cables and buoys, data on sea changes and levels, oceanographic forecasts, pollution indicators, ecological data, as well as physical-chemical characteristics of coastal areas and activities taking place at sea.

Who can submit a challenge?        
A challenge can be submitted by any individual or legal entity. It is recommended that teams applying for the competition consist of a minimum of 3 and maximum of 8 members.
