The promotion of "World’s Healthiest Foods", one of most important guides for healthy eating’s new edition, took place at University Gallery. This comprehensive book by author George Mateljan has served as a reliable guide for years to anyone looking to improve their dietary habits and overall health, based on the author and his team of scientists’ 30 years of research.

The book covers one hundred healthiest foods from various food groups, providing readers with concrete advice on their selection and preparation. It also includes over 800 quick and easy recipes that preserve food’s nutritional value, as well as specially designed meal plans that contribute to weight loss, boosting immunity and longevity.

The book was presented by: Željko Petrović, Irena Drmić Hofman, Vedran Poljak and Frano Barbir.

Importance of Mediterranean diet was emphasized by Prof. Vedran Poljak Ph.D., reminding the audience that UNESCO recognized its value in 2010 and included it in intangible cultural heritage:

- Mediterranean diet began to be systematically researched after American doctors noticed a large population of healthy older people in Sicily during World War II. Since then, it has been confirmed that diet is the key to longevity and health. This type of diet was the foundation of the Harvard Food Pyramid from the 1960s, which set scientific guidelines for healthy eating and remains relevant to this day - he explained.
