Academic promotion of 17th generation of cadets in the Integrated Undergraduate and Graduate University Study of Military Naval Science took place on March 7, 2025, at Croatian Army House “Major Ivo Jelić” in Split.
Twenty-five cadets from the Integrated Undergraduate and Graduate Study of Military Naval Science received University of Split’s diplomas, 19 males and six females. One male and one female participant came from Montenegro.
This is the second generation to have successfully completed the Military Naval Science study, consisting of two majors: Army Navigation was completed by 16 participants, including three females, and Marine Engineering by nine participants, also including three females.
On this occasion, on behalf of University of Split’s Rector, prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D., Vice-Rector prof. Nikola Koceić-Bilan Ph.D. and Commander of Croatian Military Academy “Dr. Franjo Tuđman” Major Slaven Zdilar, congratulated all cadets, wishing them a successful continuation of their careers and beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
“Today is not just a celebration of your academic success but also of your spirit, your dedication, and your future. The path you have crossed, from cadets to officers, from being led to becoming leaders, from students to our sea’s defenders, is not an easy one. It is filled with hard work and discipline, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to service and honour, as befits true patriots,” Major Slaven Zdilar emphasized in his address.
University’s Vice-Rector, prof. Nikola Koceić-Bilan Ph.D. welcomed graduates into the academic community and pointed out the value and importance of education, telling them to never stop working on themselves, as they have chosen both an academic and a military career.
“Be proud of your uniforms,” he said, emphasizing that, they should take pride in their education, maintain a steady course, and never forget that their home port is in Croatia, regardless of the seas they navigate.
