From September 17 to 19, 2025, Faculty of Humanities in Split hosted SEA-EU’s Academic Staff Week in Psychology.
The event also provided an opportunity to strengthen international ties within SEA-EU Alliance and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
The first day set a strong tone for the entire week. Prof. Ina Reić Ercegovac Ph.D., Faculty of Humanities’ Dean, welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of promoting resilience and well-being in higher education. Ivana Jadrić Ph.D. and Ivan Buljan Ph.D. presented Department of Psychology’s work at University of Split, while Antonija Peroš Ph.D., Bruno Barać Ph.D., and Tea Gutović Ph.D. spoke about student support and strategies for improving academic and personal success. Prof. Ana Marušić Ph.D. emphasized the importance of publishing scientific papers and international collaboration. The day ended with an informal tour of the city’s historic center, which allowed participants to connect with each other in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
The second day placed a focus on international cooperation and developing professional networks. Ana Ćosić and Tonka Petričević presented opportunities for scientific networking and building strong European partnerships. Assoc. prof. Toni Maglica Ph.D., assoc. prof. Renata Glavak Tkalić Ph.D., Prof. Irena Burić Ph.D. and prof. Ana Marušić Ph.D. shared their expert knowledge and experiences, encouraging discussions and emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation for the improvement of academic work and research.
The week ended with the international conference “Psychology in Transition: Adapting to a Rapidly Changing World”, taking place on September 19, 2025 at the AC Marriott Hotel in Split. Participants discussed how psychological theory, research and practice can respond to challenges of a globally changing society. Guests from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Norway and Poland actively participated with their presentations, contributing to international exchange of knowledge and experiences.
