On International Day of Gifted Students, the Regional Science Centre - Split-Dalmatia County’s Centre of Excellence was officially opened in its premises located at Ruđer Bošković Street 20. Among numerous guests, including Croatia’s Minister of Tourism and Sports, Tonči Glavina, and Split-Dalmatia County Prefect, Blaženko Boban, the ceremony was attended by Prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D., University of Split’s Rector, alongside Vice-rectors, professors Nikola Koceić Bilan Ph.D. and Bosiljka Britvić Vetma Ph.D..
The Centre was established as a result of a two-year project focused on strengthening educational system’s capacity, which created a foundation for further improvement of educational practices. It is conceived as a gathering place for young people, place for exchange of ideas, collaborative learning, and setting foundations for future generations. Centre offers various programs - in this school year, nearly 450 students participate in extracurricular activities, while more than 2,500 students, supported by 350 mentors, are involved in extracurricular programs.
