During the event "Split Days of the Croatian Hypertension League," prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D., University of Split’s rector, and academic Bojan Jelaković, Croatian Hypertension League’s president, signed a Charter of Cooperation on Saturday, February 8, at Mediterranean Institute for Life Sciences.
"We must be aware of the risks, that is, raise awareness in our daily lives about the so-called 'silent killers' and help the population in the fight against them, primarily through education, which is the mission of our University," emphasized Rector Ljutić, among other things.
"Our common goal is to raise health literacy and awareness of the importance of caring for our health. We do this in several ways, such as public health campaigns, discussions and lectures among experts," said academic Jelaković, announcing the hybrid symposium "Cardio-Reno-Metabolic Health" that followed, being attended by over 300 participants.
Theme of the symposium, which was moderated by prof. Ivan Pećin Ph.D., League’s vice president, focused on the importance of overall health of the cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic systems. In expert presentations, panel discussions and interactive sessions, specialists exchanged knowledge and experiences in this crucial area.
On this occasion, Rector Ljutić also gave a lecture titled "Hypertension and Obesity."
