The beginning of February was marked by the Croatian Academic Sports Federation’s award ceremony to the best individuals and teams, which was given a special touch by the academic year 2024/2025, recorded as the most successful in student sports’ history. Organizers pointed out that after five world and 18 European medals, selecting the best in student sports was not easy. Our rowing pair made it to the list of the best, winning the award for the best male team. Split's university representative, Karlo Borković, together with his colleague from Zagreb, Goran Mahmutović, won the silver medal at the Rhine-Ruhr Universiade 2025, while Split's Jana Ljubičić and Lara Vuksanić (J. J. Strossmayer University in Osijek) won the fair play award.
Players of the newly formed team AMNK Universitas finished the first season in seventh place. First part of the season they finished sixth, with seven points (two wins, one draw and four losses).
In the unique futsal league, which covers eight universities, Split is currently in third place with 10 points, after University of Zagreb and University of Osijek.
After the postponed volleyball competition, supposed to be held at the end of January, teams had more time to prepare, so KIF’s female volleyball team won gold medal at the student tournament, School of Medicine silver, and Faculty of Humanities bronze.
In male students, gold went to FESB, silver, like with female students, to medicine, and bronze to KIF. The competition is getting stronger every year and results more unpredictable.
Unisport Split futsal league started in early March, and basketball league will start middle of this month.
The AFCU futsal players currently hold third place in Croatian First Futsal League with 29 points, four less than first-placed Hajduk.
The UnisportHealth program is still active and throughout the year students are offered free recreation in a range of activities and sports - on land, in air, on court, and in the water.
