A ceremonial signing of agreements with University of Split collaborators in field of media activities, which will enable practical training for the new master's program, Journalism in Contemporary Media, took place May 13th in University’s Senate Hall “Don Frane Bulić”.

Agreements were signed by Prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D., University of Split’s Rector, and Prof. Viktorija Car Ph.D., head of independent study Communication and Media, together with university-industry cooperations’ representatives: Blaž Duplančić, director of Dalmatinski portal; Marinka Akrap, member of soccer club Hajduk’s management board; Hrvoje Turić, director of Radio Dalmacija; Tonči Jukić, Radio Sunce, editor in chief; Sandra Lapenda Lemo, chief editor of Sloboda Dalmacija; Vinko Ursić Glavanović, director of Sloboda Dalmacija; Pasko Tomaš, director of TV Dalmacija, and Ivana Čikeš Županović, director of TV Jadran. An agreement was also previously signed with Croatian Radio Television (HRT) and students will also perform training or internships at university media outlets Radio Kampus and newspaper Universitas. The event was also attended by vice-rectors prof. Nikola Koceić-Bilan Ph.D., prof. Bosiljka Britvić Vetma Ph.D., and prof. Boris Maleš Ph.D.; Ivana Pletković, Head of Rector’s Office; Damir Petranović, President of Split-Dalmatia County’s Branch of Croatian Journalists' Association; Mate Prlić, co-owner and marketing director of Dalmatinski portal; Nino Kapitanović, Head of Hajduk Digital; as well as undergraduate students of Communication and Media, Study’s professors and other staff.

Master's program Journalism in Contemporary Media will enrol first generation of students this fall. According to the curriculum, training that students will perform in professional media offices over three semesters will total 480 working hours per student and constitutes an important part of the program focused on applied learning.
