This year again, Split was the global stage of university entrepreneurship during the fifth international university startup competition, STup!2024. This year, 28 selected startups from 18 countries entered the competition. All of them gathered on June 20 at University of Split’s Faculty of Economics to present their startups to the jury and win entry to the finals, which will take place July 21.

The STup!2024 competition is organized in cooperation with University Green Digital HUB and the support of City of Split, European Maritime University Alliance (SEA-EU), Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) and Croatian Agency for Small Business, Innovation and Investment, (HAMAG BICRO).

Moderated by Pinija Poljaković and Michael Freer, on the first day of the competition, all 28 startups (in four categories) presented their ideas to the expert jury. Contestants had five minutes to present their ideas, followed by questions from the expert jury. Each category had four judges who differed from one category to another. In addition to the competition, the program also included various lectures.

Startup SIGNVOX, our University in Split’s representatives, came in second, the third place going to MOVEABLY team from University of Belgrade. Winners shared the prize fund in the amount of €3,500.

In addition to the award, best startup also gets direct participation in the famous TechBBQ conference.
