  • Cilj 2
This academic year, the University of Split is continuing the action "University of Split’s Humane Heart," during which dinner will be served weekly, on Wednesdays, to users of the homeless shelter operated by Most Association.

This already traditional campaign resumed on January 21, when dinner prepared by Student Centre was distributed to users by University's management representative, Vice-Rector for Teaching, Students, and Operations, prof. Nikola Koceić-Bilan Ph.D., along with students’ representative, Tomislav Miličević, member of the Student Council from Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Geodesy.

The success of this campaign is demonstrated not only by providing users with a warm meal but also by the friendly and relaxed atmosphere in which, during dinner, University’s team and their hosts together watched Croatian water polo team’s match.

Mladen Božanić, head of the Homeless Centre currently caring for 35 users, expressed satisfaction with continuing this campaign, which has proven commendable since all University’s components participate by financing meals and involving both employees and students in visiting the shelter and distributing food. The Student Centre participates by preparing and delivering food.

With this campaign, proposed by Rector, prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D., unanimously approved by the Senate, the University wants to show that it is driver and active participant in all social activities in its local community, including those that aim to help when it is most needed.
