At University of Split’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, officially began the international educational program Blended Intensive Program (BIP), titled Sustainable, Social and Participatory Learning for Innovative Transformation (SPLIT), running from June 2 to 6, 2025.
The program is organized within the Erasmus+ initiative and is coordinated by University of Split in partnership with universities from Kiel, Gdańsk, and Cádiz. Also implementing it are Split Technology Park and the SEA-EU Alliance.
Its program focuses on social engagement, sustainable development, and innovative learning methods.
First two days are dedicated to lectures, workshops, and fieldwork—including visits to local institutions, associations, and Split Technology Park—with the aim of gathering inspiration and information for further work. Following two days are dedicated to Hackathon, in which students, organized into teams and supported by mentors, develop project solutions on social and environmental challenges. Final day is reserved for project presentations before an expert jury, evaluation and feedback.
In addition to physical activities, the program includes a final online component of reflection, during which participants share their experiences and personal development after the program. Completing all parts, students earn 3 ECTS credits and get participation certificates.
SPLIT BIP recognizes the importance of education in shaping responsible engaged individuals and offers space for interdisciplinary and international collaboration, encouraging young people to become agents of positive change in their communities.
This program is partof a broader series of BIPs organized by SEA-EU Alliance, implemented at partner universities across Europe. Each of them addresses different areas, from sustainability and social innovation to digital skills and civic engagement.
Students are invited to actively participate in upcoming programs and take advantage of opportunities for learning, collaboration and development in this international dynamic academic community.
