Representatives from University of Oxford, prof. Paul Brennan, Director of Centre for Drug Development, and PhD student, Matthew Holland, visited University of Split on Monday, October 14th.
During the visit, Professor Paul Brennan delivered a lecture titled "Modern Methods of Drug Discovery for Alzheimer’s Disease" to a full assembly in the University of Split’s Senate Hall.
PhD student Matthew Holland introduced those present to student life at University of Oxford, the oldest university in the English-speaking world, founded in 1096, and ranked the best in the world for the ninth consecutive year, according to Times Higher Education ranking. University’s structure and research areas were presented, as well as other activities for students’ free time.
During their visit, Oxford representatives had the opportunity to exchange ideas for potential collaborations with our University's management and visit several of its components: School of Medicine, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Chemistry and Technology, University departments of Health Studies, and of Marine Studies, where researchers showcased their significant equipment.
