University of Split is continuing its humanitarian initiative "Humane Heart” during which dinner will be served to users of the homeless shelter operated by the MoSt Association every Wednesday throughout this academic year.
This already traditional action resumed on November 21, when University Management representative, Vice-Rector for Teaching, Students, and Operations, Prof. Nikola Koceić-Bilan Ph.D., and student representative, President of Student Council Jerko Šarić, distributed dinner prepared by Student Centre to the users.
Mladen Božanić, director of the homeless centre currently supporting 35 users, expressed his satisfaction with continuing the action, previously proven to be highly successful, as all University’s faculties, departments, and studies participate financing meals for users and employees and students visiting the shelter to distribute food. The Student Centre also contributes preparing and delivering the meals.
With this initiative, unanimously accepted by the Senate at the proposal of Rector, Prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D., the University aims to demonstrate that it is a driving force or active participant in all social events in its community, including those aimed at providing assistance in times of need.
