Numerous women, men as well, appeared at the second edition of the humanitarian fashion show "Celebrating Life", which took place December 13 at University Gallery. All collected funds will be donated to Sanus, association of parents whose children are suffering from and being treated for malignant diseases.
Designer and journalist Šime Kovačević dedicated the fashion show to his sister Valentina, thus telling another fashion fairy tale. The fashion show consisted of two parts: first dedicated to youth, we saw models from the '80s and '90s, and second to the legendary designer Coco Chanel "because I saw that great artists create greatest works from their troubles " - overwhelmed by emotions, Šime Kovačević spoke, revealing why he chose Campus as the location this year:
- I studied at the Faculty of Economics and my sister at the Faculty of Chemistry and Technology. With those qualifications, we thought we would conquer the world, so I continue that story with this fashion show - he said.
Solidarity and support for women struggling with one of the deadliest diseases today was expressed by prof. Nikša Jajac, University of Split’s vice-rector for infrastructure, congratulating Šime Kovačević before the show started for having gathered such a large number of people:
- I would also like to thank Feđa Klarić for two reasons: first of all, the Gallery is wonderfully decorated with his photographs, and secondly, he donated one of them on designer bags that you can buy in lottery, donating to Sanus association - vice-rector Jajac said.
- It is very important to work on education and raising awareness among all of us, so our first goal is to help Sanus association, also drawing attention to importance of regular checkups in youth for preventing the disease that increasingly affect this population - Helena Trze Jakelić, manager of University Gallery, said at the beginning of the evening.
Humanitarian fashion show "Celebrate life" was part of the humanitarian campaign "Let us give light", launched in cooperation with the city district Split 3, Split School of Tourism and Hospitality and the local community.
