This year's WURI ranking saw the participation of around 2,000 institutions with a total of 13,211 innovative programs and initiatives. WURI rankings continually confirm growth and global recognition among higher education institutions worldwide.
WURI, or World University Rankings for Innovation, evaluate innovation, diversity, and long-term impact on economy, society, and international cooperation. In the international competition, University of Split’s ranking, 53rd globally, is a great achievement and confirms quality of its activities, as well as University’s strategic focus on social responsibility, international collaboration, and contemporary educational models. This is a significant advancement compared to last year, when University of Split was ranked 79th, continuing a positive trend — in 2024, we were 94th, and in 2023, in the range between 101-200 universities.
University of Split stood out in eight categories this year. In Student Support and Engagement (A1), it was ranked 5th, with an integrated approach focused on comprehensive student support through mentorship, academic counseling, career development, mental health and inclusivity, creating a stimulating and accessible academic environment for all students. In the category Industrial Application (A3), we secured 24th place, indicating that our research results are finding practical application and benefiting economy.
The University achieved outstanding results in categories accessing the real impact of knowledge. In Social Impact through Knowledge Transfer (C5), it ranked 3rd, while in Representative Research Project (C1) and Financial Impact-Driven Technology Transfer (C8) categories, it ranked 6th. This confirms that research conducted have a real social and economic contribution.
In Entrepreneurial Culture & Ecosystem (A4), the University was ranked 51st, demonstrating its support for future innovators and entrepreneurs. In the SDG- and ESG-Based Responses to Past and Present Global Challenges (A8) category, it ranked 54th, reflecting its commitment to sustainable development and addressing key global challenges. In University Brand and Reputation (B8), it ranked 69th, indicating the recognition of University’s project brands. The overall result for this year confirms University’s strategic orientation towards innovation, social responsibility, and international recognition.
