In University Gallery’s intimate setting, in company of the author and brave audience that attended despite the stormy weather, the exhibition "Production of Childhood" by the visual artist Leo Katunarić Kadele was officially opened.

The exhibition was presented by curator Dalibor Prančević and the author himself. Prančević pointed out that this is Leo Katunarić’ first exhibition in Split, presenting himself to us with an exhibition of a significant title, "Production of Childhood". The title evokes self-reflexivity in reading the exhibition, however, it still deals with topics that refer to everyone.

Art exhibition includes Gallery’s both floors. In the ground floor, there are six large-format paintings describing author's personal experiences, which can be reduced to six main themes: religion, politics, war, family, love, justice, or themes that essentially define each of us.

On the second floor, there is an art installation the author called "Portal of lost data", which includes a video (3 minutes and 20 seconds), connected to paintings below. Again, there are six topics, but this time social ones that again concern every individual. These are very specific topics, mostly world scandals and political events.

Leo Katunarić is also the author of the book "Artistic performance in digital culture", where he explains his point of view.

- It is one area that needs to be approached very seriously, and that is why I connect paintings (or even performances) I draw, with technology that is sometimes only symbolic, and sometimes there is a software involved in the work itself. It is important to me that everything is combined into one only controlling machine - like a theater performance made up of both technology and people, just like everyday life is. A human still needs to start the machine so the technology would work - Katunarić pointed out.
