Award ceremony for University of Split’s Science Award, for 2024, took place on February 20 in University’s Senate hall "Don Frane Bulić." This award is given to most productive scientists whose work significantly contributed to visibility and recognition of our University on both European and global levels.
Tracking scientific productivity in 2023, University Library compiled ranking of scientific papers indexed in WoSCC and Scopus databases according to scientific fields. Only papers with affiliation to University of Split were considered. For awards in categories of research fellows, assistants, and postdocs, candidates with a minimum of three papers published in either WoSCC or Scopus databases were taken into consideration, alongside additional criteria such as quality of the journal and candidates' contribution.
Congratulatory remarks were extended to recipients by prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D., University of Split’s rector, prof. Ivica Puljak Ph.D., Mayor of Split, and Stipe Čogelja, Split-Dalmatia County deputy prefect.
On behalf of laureates, gratitude was expressed by assoc. prof. Josip Lőrincz Ph.D. from Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture.
The musical part of the program featured performances by students from Arts Academy in Split, Lucija Majić, first-year mandolin, Ana Mlačić, fourth-year music pedagogy and second-year mandolin, both in prof. Ivana Kenk Kalebić’s class. The ceremony was moderated by Stella Mrđen, a student of Communication and Media.
