Announcing University of Split Art Academy students’ project: "Research and documentation of the (musical) customs of Holy Week in Svirče on island of Hvar"

UMAS Department of Music Pedagogy and Musical Culture (head prof. Ivana Tomić Ferić Ph.D., editor-in-chief) announces a joint project of students from Music and Art Departments.

During seven days, students will conduct ethnomusicological research according to modern methods of musical ethnography, striving to actively, comprehensively and multidisciplinary, follow and document the multi-layered musical and folk tradition of the Great Week in Svirče on the island of Hvar, one of six stations in procession following the Cross (Za križen, protected by UNESCO).
