Announcing University of Split Art Academy students’ project:

UMAS Department of Music Pedagogy and Musical Culture (head prof. Ivana Tomić Ferić Ph.D., editor-in-chief) announces a joint project of students from Music and Art Departments.

During seven days, students will conduct ethnomusicological research according to modern methods of musical ethnography, striving to actively, comprehensively and multidisciplinary, follow and document the multi-layered musical and folk tradition of the Great Week in Svirče on the island of Hvar, one of six stations in procession following the Cross (Za križen, protected by UNESCO).

Leader and initiator of the project: Maja Milošević Carić Ph.D., postdoctoral student (Department of Music Pedagogy and Culture)

Collaborator: Mirko Jankov, assistant. (Department of Music Pedagogy and Music Culture)

Student coordinator: Ana Mlačić (4th year, Department of Music Pedagogy)
