The continuing medical training course "School of Infectology ST-2024" on hospital infections, jointly organized by University of Split’s Department of Health Studies and Split Clinical Hospital Center, was officially opened on March 15, in the Three Faculties Building.
Prof. Dragan Ljutić Ph.D., University of Split rector, opened the course was by emphasizing that he hopes that many questions will be answered, and the rich experience of our experts in the field, already proven in numerous situations, for example the COVID-19 pandemic, gives faith in this.
Asst. prof. Slavica Dajak Ph.D., assistant director of KBC Split, welcomed the cooperation with University Department of Health Studies, expressing her deep conviction that this meeting would produce exceptional results.
Prof. Irena Drmić Hofman Ph.D., head of University Department of Health Studies, said that this was an important and useful gathering, considering the relevance of this topic, including all stakeholders in healthcare.
Head of School of Infectology and president of the Organizational Committee, assoc. prof. Mirela Pavičić Ivelja Ph.D., pointed out that compared to last year's meeting, a step forward was made this year, with a topic that requires a multidisciplinary approach.
As an introduction, assoc. prof. Mario Podrug Ph.D., member of the Organizing Committee, stated that this course is intended for doctors and nurses employed in hospital and outpatient institutions, who in their daily work face the growing problem of prevention and treatment of hospital infections, especially those caused by multi-resistant microorganisms.
The course has a professional and educational character, and is scored according to the regulations of Croatian Medical Chamber and Croatian Chamber of Nurses.
