Split’s edition of the Falling Walls competition has its first winner - Arsen Ivanišević from School of Medicine in Split, who excelled with his presentation on "Breaking the Wall of Traditional Surgery."
The Falling Walls competition in Split took place on September 30, 2024, at Faculty of Science, where University of Split’s students and young researchers presented their innovative ideas in three-minute pitches. Their work was evaluated by a five-member jury consisting of: prof. Zoran Đogaš Ph.D., Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Cooperation with Local Community; prof. Nikša Jajac Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Infrastructure; prof. Dragan Poljak Ph.D., from Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FESB)’s Department of Electronics and Computer Science; prof. Danica Ramljak Ph.D., Senior Advisor for Education and Science at World Bank; and prof. Vlasta Bonačić-Koutecký Ph.D., Head of Centre of Excellence for Science and Technology.
According to Vice-Rector Đogaš, the jury faced an exceptionally difficult task of selecting the winner, as all participants demonstrated an impressive level of courage and innovation. He congratulated all competitors who dared to apply for the second Falling Walls competition in Croatia.
The final competition in Berlin will take place November 7-9, 2024, and we wish our representative Arsen Ivanišević much success!
